Dawn accepted a job at Pequea Valley in 2008, doing taxes, census and accounting, and is now the Accounts Payable/Purchasing Coordinator. She became the key person and encouraged Pequea Valley office professionals to join LLAEOP, as no one at PV had been a member for several years. In 2012, she was installed as the Region 9 Representative. She was installed as PAEOP Treasurer in May 2016 and served as Treasurer until the present.
Dawn joined NAEOP several years ago to pursue the PSP certification and CEOE distinction. She completed both in May, 2013. Louise Mikowychok, CEOE (Immediate Past President)
Louise Mikowychok, CEOE, had been employed at Chester County Intermediate Unit, Downingtown, PA since 2003 in various support and management positions. In January 2021, Louise made the decision to retire after 20.5 years in educational support positions in PA, including previous support of special education at Solanco SD in Lancster County.
Retirement has been enjoyable and productive, with active participation in PAEOP as President, PSBA committee involvement, NAEOP and Northeast Area membership and a quilting hobby. She and her husband, John, are presently managing a renovation at a property in West Chester, PA for their forever home.
During her career, Louise earned her PSP with CEOE distinction, was awarded the Gertrude Kopf Award of Recognition for service to education, and completed her BA in Organizational Dynamics at Immaculata University - a lifelong goal. She served PAEOP in roles including Region 15 representative, Webmaster, PEPTalk Editor, Membership Director, Fall Workshop Chair, Spring Conference Chair, President Elect and most recently President. All these positions brought Louise many exciting and enjoyable experiences and long-lasting friendships.
Louise believes every child deserves educational opportunities in safe and nurturing places. Educational Office Support Professionals are key employees who partner in that effort. Time spent improving their skills can only improve how effective their contribution to parents and teachers are - to the team supporting the student.
The next position as Immediate Past-President on the Executive Committee is an honor and privilege to achieve. It is with the support of the membership, the board members and her most recent employer, Chester County intermediate Unit, that she grew her confidence, ability and purpose over the years. This organization is a worthwhile one that, when fully utilized, afforded Louise the opportunity to come full circle in a career that was exciting, rewarding and a blessing.
