Hermine Solt Student Scholarship

Welcome back.  See below for guidelines and criteria for the Scholarship. Scholarships of $500 each will be offered to a student who best meets the requirements. Criteria:
1. Scholastic achievement and motivation for higher education
2. Qualities and traits of leadership, citizenship, and service to school and community
3. Financial need
4. Recommendations from business education department member and/or school counselor must accompany application
5. A career in Accounting, Business, Business Administration, Business Communications, Business Management, Business Communications, International Business, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Marketing, Computer/Technology, or Secretarial/Admin. Assistant are qualified pursuits.

Guidelines for Applicants:

The completed Hermine Solt Student Scholarship Application, official transcript and recommendation must be emailed to the attention of the chairperson on or before March 1st. Incomplete applications will be disqualified. 

Members of the scoring committee will receive PDF's of the applications with names and addresses removed to ensure unbiased scoring. Winners will be chosen by the committee and recommended for approval by the PAEOP president. A recommendation will be made by the Scholarship Committee to the PAEOP Executive Board for approval.

Final selection will be made by March 20, 2024. Announcement of the winner(s) will be made at the annual PAEOP Conference during the Awards Banquet. This year, the conference is being held at the Penn Harris Hotel & Conference Center in Camp Hill PA the evening of April 9, 2024. The winner(s) will be invited in advance to attend with a guest, compliments of PAEOP. A speech from the winner will be appreciated. However, in the event attendance is not possible, a recording can be arranged. 

Payment of the scholarship will be made directly to the educational entity of admission, upon written verification of the student's enrollment in a business-related program (noted above.) This usually occurs in the fall after the graduation of the winner.

The format of the application form may not be changed in any way. All materials submitted shall become the property of PAEOP.
